Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence is facing a backlash after appearing to suggest that the recent spate of deadly hurricanes to hit the US are ‘mother nature’s rage’ against President Donald Trump.
The outspoken actress, 27, spoke frankly about her views on climate change and the political climate in America during her interview with Channel 4, while discussing her new movie ‘Mother!’ Her comments met harsh criticism.
Lawrence has met backlash from viewers of the interview who believe she spoke out of line, as the US has been ravaged by severe hurricanes in the past week.

She said: ‘It’s also scary to know it’s been proven through science that climate change is due to human activity and we continue to ignore it. And the only voice that we really have is through voting and we voted and it was really startling.
‘You know you’re watching these hurricanes now and it’s hard especially while promoting this movie not to feel Mother Nature’s rage. Wrath.’

‘It’s really polarising and upsetting,’ she explained. ‘I’ve heard things and seen things on TV in my own country that devastate me and make me sick and it’s just really confusing.’
