Jennifer Lopez ‘will keep $5M green diamond engagement ring’ from Ben Affleck amid divorce – as her wedding ring collection is now at $17M

She’s been engaged six times and walked down the aisle four and throughout her colorful love life Jennifer Lopez has amassed an impressive collection of engagement rings worth $17 million.

The On The Floor hitmaker, 52, officially called it quits on her marriage to Ben Affleck after the singer filed for divorce herself on Tuesday – the same day as the estranged couple’s second wedding anniversary.

And given her history it is likely the actress will keep her ‘lucky’ green $5.6M engagement diamond from Ben.

Adding to her collection, the stunning piece of jewellery will join an ever growing collection alongside the pink rock Ben gave her 20 years ago, as well as the rings from former husbands Marc Anthony, Cris Judd, Ojani Noa and former fiancé Alex Rodriguez

Here MailOnline takes a look through Jennifer’s impressive collection of hefty diamonds.

Laura Taylor, engagement ring specialist at Lorel Diamonds, told DailyMail.com: ‘The first engagement ring J.Lo received was from Ojani Noa in 1997.

‘This was a 3.5-carat marquise-cut diamond on a yellow gold band, simple yet elegant, valued today at around $130k.’

Jennifer and the model-waiter were married for 11 months before finalizing their divorce in January 1998.

Ojani’s ring is the ‘cheapest’ of her rings and was the first to join her collection.

Ben Affleck: $2.6m

The engagement made headlines after he presented the singer with a 6-carat radiant-cut pink diamond flanked by two white trapezoid-cut diamonds, set on a platinum band.

‘This iconic ring is valued at approximately $2.6m and is one of the most famous colored diamond engagement rings in the world,’ explained the expert.

In an interview in November 2002, Jennifer told Diane Sawyer that the proposal was ‘traditional, but also in a very spectacular way, as of course Ben would do it … it was very, very beautiful.’

Marc Anthony: $6.5m

Marc’s offering of his love remains the star’s most expensive and rarest ring in her collection.

According to experts the ring is a ‘a magnificent 8.5-carat blue radiant-cut diamond, flanked by trapezoid-cut diamonds on a platinum band.’

It is worth a whopping $6.5m, surpassing the value of her other rings.

Laura explained: ‘The most expensive ring she has kept is the blue diamond ring from Anthony, which she described in a 2021 interview as her most treasured piece of jewelry, even more so than the pink diamond Ben gave her during their first engagement.’

The pair first crossed paths in 1998 when he was performing in the Broadway musical titled, The Capeman.

After developing a close friendship they later tied the knot in 2004 during a private ceremony – shortly after her first engagement to Ben came to an end.

Four years later in 2008, the former couple welcomed twins Max and Emme. However, the two split in 2011 – with the divorce being officially finalised in 2014.

Alex Rodriguez: $2m

The New York Yankees baseball player, popped the question to Jennifer in 2019 after two years of dating.

He presented the singer with a massive 15-carat emerald-cut diamond set on a platinum band which is valued around $2 million.

Previously opening up about the big milestone while on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. Alex revealed ‘I planned it for about six months.’

‘[And] the three days prior to me going down on one knee and getting engaged, I rehearsed for three days in a row. Because I wanted the sunset to be perfect.’

He added, ‘One day, the sunset was at 6:27, the next day it was at 6:29, and then the third day it was raining. So I kind of [decided on] 6:29, and I said, “This is the time that I’m gonna do it.” And it worked out well.’

However the pair never made it down the aisle after they announced their split in 2021 and revealed they realised they worked better as friends.

Ben Affleck: $5.6M

In 2021, Jennifer and Ben rekindled their romance and became engaged once again in April 2022.

He proposed for the second time with the $5.6M ‘lucky’ green engagement ring which features a 8.5-carat green cushion-cut diamond.

Laura explained: ‘The ring is worth roughly $5.6m thanks to the rarity of natural green diamonds, which also happens to be J.Lo’s lucky colour.’

A few months later, they said ‘I do’ at a chapel in Las Vegas in July, followed by a larger ceremony at his Georgia mansion on August 20, 2022.

Jennifer filed for divorce from Ben on Tuesday.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, the Jenny From the Block singer filed legal docs in L.A. County Superior Court without an attorney.

The date of separation is listed as April 26 2024, but the day on which J. Lo filed for divorce is in fact the second anniversary of the second ceremony they held in Georgia, which followed their initial wedding service in Las Vegas just two months before that.

An it is thought Jennifer will be keeping the ring despite their separation as Laura Taylor said, ‘Jennifer Lopez has amassed a remarkable collection of engagement rings over the years, each representing a different chapter in her life.

‘In the United States, engagement rings are typically considered gifts, meaning J.Lo is legally entitled to keep the ring after the divorce unless agreed otherwise in a prenup.’

‘As J.Lo and Ben Affleck didn’t have a prenup, the engagement ring, a stunning 8.5-carat green cushion-cut diamond, will likely be added to her collection.

But in California, engagement rings are generally considered separate property, and courts often rule in favor of the recipient in a divorce.

This is because the ring is typically given as a gift before the marriage, and the argument is that the gift belongs to the recipient regardless of whether the relationship lasts.

‘With the addition of Ben Affleck’s green engagement ring, J.Lo’s collection of engagement rings is now worth an estimated $17 million,’ added Laura.

The couple has been rumored to have called it quits for some time now, but Jennifer – who has 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-hu18, Seraphina, 15, and 12-year-old Samuel – has not addressed anything to do with their supposed split, and just mere months ago insisted that there was a ‘real, true love’ between the pair.

She told the Metro newspaper: ‘I wrote This Is Me… Then when Ben and I fell in love 20-something years ago.

‘As fate would have it, we came back into each other’s lives. And on the 20th anniversary of This Is Me… Then, I announced that I would do This Is Me… Now. It was inspired by the surreal miracle that had happened.

‘Him coming back into my life and the two of us reuniting in a way that we never expected that was the inspiration for even going in the studio. The album just poured out of me.

‘It was just something organic and beautiful, but it was definitely inspired by getting this incredible second chance at real, true love.’
