Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg opened up about how their annual vow renewals have become a ‘powerful’ way to refresh their relationship.
The former Playboy model, 51, and the Blue Bloods actor, 55, who tied the knot in August 2014, shared their thoughts on how these rituals help ‘reboot’ their marriage.
‘It really is like a reboot. Like we shut down our phone to reboot it. We upgrade our phone. This, to me, our renewals feel like an upgrade every time we do it,’ McCarthy told Fox on Wednesday.
‘Because how often, after being married a long time, do you actually stop and stare in each other’s eyes and listen to the commitment and say the words again,’ she added.
Wahlberg chimed in, ‘To be able to do it again with what we know now and 10 years under our belt, and to just be in that space of honesty and vulnerability with each other, it’s really a profound thing to do.’

The couple also revealed that it was the former New Kids on the Block star who introduced the special tradition into their marriage.
‘When we did it, it was so powerful and so emotional for us that then I decided we should do it every year,’ he divulged. ‘The thing was, I didn’t always let her know about it, so I spent nine years surprising her.’
Despite celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary in August, Jenny revealed that friends and family had alerted her and Donnie to recent divorce rumors.
‘People just have to look at us and know that that will never happen. It’s like ’till death do us part, absolutely, in this marriage,’ she explained.
During her Tuesday appearance on Watch What Happens Live, the star reaffirmed her commitment to Donnie, telling host Andy Cohen, ‘Listen, there will never, ever, ever be a divorce between me and Donnie. It’s ‘til death do us part. No matter what.’
Wahlberg was in the studio audience during his wife’s interview and interjected, ‘We wouldn’t break your heart. ‘
He added: ‘We will never break your heart, Andy. That’s one of the many reasons it’ll never happen.”
The couple initially met during a taping of Watch What Happens Live that took place in 2012.

The actor was formerly married to Kimberly Fey from 1999 until 2010, and the pair share two sons named Elijah, 12 and Xavier, 20.
The actress was also married to John Asher from 1999 until 2005, and they share a son named Evan, 21, who was born in 2022.
Wahlberg and McCarthy ultimately began dating in 2013, and they made their first red carpet appearance as a couple the following year.
The happy couple went on to tie the knot in the model’s home state of Illinois in August of 2014.
