Jens Lehmann’s ‘marriage is over after his wife found a new partner while he partied with younger women at Oktoberfest before drink-driving arrest’

Former Germany and Arsenal star Jens Lehmann has reportedly split up with his wife, amid the ongoing troubles he faces in his private life.

Lehmann, 54, was fined £112,500 on Friday after being found guilty of property damage and attempted fraud by a German court, according to a report.

It also comes after he was allegedly arrested for drink driving in lederhosen after Oktoberfest celebrations earlier this week.

And now, according to Bild, Lehmann’s relationship with his wife Conny, 52 – who runs a yoga school – has ended.

The pair met in 1995, before they officially got together in 1999, marrying in October of that year.

Conny, who was previously in a relationship with former Borussia Dortmund and Germany midfielder Knut Reinhardt, has two children with Lehmann, Mats, 24 and Lieselotta, 18. Lehmann also adopted Conny’s child from her time with Reinhardt.

She was by the Arsenal star’s side throughout his time in the game and helped him through various tough moments.

For example, Conny convinced Lehmann not to retire from international duty with Germany in 2005 amid his ongoing battle with Oliver Kahn for the No 1 shirt. Lehmann was subsequently first choice for Germany at the World Cup in 2006.

The report goes on to explain how the couple have been in an on-off relationship for some time, with Conny since finding a new partner.

She is said to be living apart from Lehmann, who remains in the family home with their children.

They did go on holiday as a family in the summer, but the report claims that was for the benefit of the children rather than any romantic feelings between the pair.

At Oktoberfest last week, things came to a head when Conny was reportedly seen with friends, while Lehmann was pictured having fun with several young women in a separate area.

The 54-year-old was then allegedly arrested for drink driving, according to reports and was forced to hand over his driving licence.

Meanwhile, during his sentencing on Friday when Lehmann was hit with a £112,500 fine, this was reduced on appeal after the initial ruling saw him given a suspended prison sentence and a penalty of more than £350,000.

Explaining the reduction, Lehmann’s Lawyer Florian Ufer opened up on his personal circumstances and said in a statement: ‘My client is obliged to support his wife and daughter.’

But now, 29 years after originally meeting Conny, Lehmann will no longer be married to her.
