Some Jeopardy contestants walk away with prize money, but Florida native Michael Pascuzzi left the stage Thursday night with a new fiance.

During the show, host Alex Trebek says that he usually likes to interview guests using ‘little bits of information’ they give to producers but Pascuzzi did not provide any.

‘So what do you want to talk about,’ Trebek asks.

Pascuzzi tells Trebek he can fill in but wants to ask his girlfriend Maria Shafer a question.

The camera pans to the audience and shows Shafer smiling and covering her mouth with her hand. She gives a quick wave to Trebek as Pascuzzi pops the big question.

‘I wanna ask if she would make me a winner today and marry me,’ he says as the audience claps.

Shafer, who looks shocked, grins and tells him ‘yes, of course’.
