Jeremy Clarkson leaves Kaleb Cooper worried about his health after embarrassing holiday mishap

Jeremy Clarkson has told of how he left Kaleb Cooper worried about his health after an embarrassing holiday mishap.

The TV presenter, 64, had been enjoying some time away from Diddly Squat Farm with his girlfriend Lisa Hogan in the South of France but sparked concern upon his return to the Cotswolds.

Admitting that he can no longer handle the sun like he used to, Jeremy revealed his trip had an undesirable outcome.

Writing in his column for The Times, he explained: ‘The next problem we have when we go abroad is the sun. I used to lie in it, hoping I could go home looking like David Dickinson.

‘But I never achieved that Cuprinol finish. I just went red and then all my skin fell off, as though my eczema had returned.’

He added: ‘When I returned to the farm on Monday, Kaleb thought I’d caught vitiligo.’

A chronic autoimmune disorder, vitiligo ’causes patches of skin to lose pigment or colour’, according to the the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Disease. Vitiligo is not life-threatening and is also not contagious.

Elsewhere, Jeremy has installed a huge canopy and outdoor tables at his new £1million pub ahead of its opening.

The former Top Gear presenter has been busy transforming a dilapidated wedding venue in Burford village, Oxfordshire, into the new pub, named The Windmill.

The pub is set to open its doors next weekend after he paid less than £1million for the property.

Jeremy has faced pushback from locals in the West Oxfordshire area when trying to expand his Diddly Squat farm project, with the rows featuring extensively in his hit Amazon series Clarkson’s Farm.

It’s understood the ex-Top Gear host’s new venture will feature in the next series of Clarkson’s Farm on Amazon’s Prime Video.

Clarkson has been working flat out in recent weeks to get the Cotswolds pub up and running – and filming much of the process.

Frequently accompanied by his partner Lisa, he has been trailed by scores of cast and crew from the upcoming fourth series.

Back in May Jeremy thanked fans for their support and praise following the release of the third series of the show.

He wrote: ‘Once again, thank you for all the kind words about the second half of series 3. I hope you enjoy 4 as much.’

And when one follower asked when they could expect to see the next season, Jeremy replied: ‘We will film it all this year.’
