Miss Clarkson has posted in the past about her ‘constant unhappiness’ with her body from the age of 11, adding: ‘There were times when I was so unhappy that after eating I would cry to the point where I was sick… thankfully it didn’t last long.’

She now admits: ‘Even after I lost weight a few years ago I’d still obsess over how my tum looked when I sat down and what people would think of me for having rolls.’

Miss Clarkson, who lives in London with musician Alex Andrew, added: ‘I don’t know how I managed to get over this pathetically all-encompassing fear of my body but it feels bloody wonderful. There will always be someone out there with a “better” body than yours.’
