Jeremy McConnell arrives at court over community service

Reality TV star Jeremy McConnell arrives at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court this afternoon

Reality TV star Jeremy McConnell has told friends to ‘have a good Christmas’ as he arrived at court facing a jail sentence for skipping community service.

McConnell, from Dublin, cut a solemn figure as he walked through Cardiff Magistrates’ Court this afternoon to find out  if he will be spending the festive period locked up.

Dressed in a hoody and ripped jeans, he bowed his head as he walked past photographers.

Before arriving, he posted on his Snapchat account: ‘If I don’t see yas have a good Christmas’.

The former Big Brother contestant was hauled back into the dock after he failed to ‘comply’ with a community work order that he was given in August.

McConnell was handed a 20-week suspended sentenced and ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work, after being found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend Stephanie Davis.

The court heard how McConnell, who suffered problems with drug abuse, threw Ms Davis, the mother of his child, ‘around like a rag doll’.

Despite being pictured wearing a hi-vis jacket while sweeping roads around the Welsh capital, McConnell skipped out on doing his total required hours.

Instead he went to get a hair and beard transplant at a clinic in Instanbul, Turkey, so that he can look the ‘best he can’ as he propels himself back into the spotlight in upcoming projects.

A source told the Sun : ‘Jeremy has been reckless and stupid to think that the law wouldn’t catch up with him.

‘He skipped dates so he could go out partying with his mates in Turkey and now it’s caught up with him.

‘Jeremy doesn’t seem that bothered about going back into court but that could all change depending on what the judge decides.’
