Jessica Chastain has revealed that she swerved catching Covid at the Golden Globes by wearing a mask ahead of her arrival on the red carpet.

The actress, 45, responded to a fan sharing her relief that she hadn’t contracted the virus after multiple stars revealed they’d tested positive following the ceremony on January 10.

Among those struck down with Covid were stars Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson and Jamie Lee Curtis, with all forced to miss Sunday’s Critics Choice Awards due to their positive status.

In a video posted on Instagram, Jessica revealed she’d donned a sparkly silver mask  to match her gown as she exited her hotel and made her way onto the red carpet.

The star then responded to one Twitter user who shared a snap of her masked appearance, writing: ‘and you know who didn’t get COVID at the Golden Globes?’

Re-posting the image, Jessica added: ‘Phew!’

On Sunday it was revealed that multiple stars had tested positive for Covid following the Golden Globes, with The Banshees of Inisherin stars Colin and Brendan both forced to miss the Critics Choice Awards.

Just days prior, Jamie Lee Curtis, 64 – nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category for Everything Everywhere All at Once – revealed she would be skipping the ceremony after contracting the virus.

Colin, Brendan and Jamie Lee were all present at Tuesday’s Golden Globe Awards ceremony, where Colin took home the gong for Best Actor – Motion Picture – Musical/Comedy for his acclaimed role in The Banshees of Inisherin.
