Jessica Mauboy announces AO Music for Relief concert to raise funds for bushfire crisis …as Courtney Barnett and others hold their own benefits
Jessica Mauboy will hold a benefit for bushfire relief.
According to The Daily Telegraph, the singer’s Australian Open concert on January 19 will now we named AO Music for Relief.
All proceeds from the 30-year-old’s concert will be donated to the Red Cross, and more performers are set to be announced.

It comes after indie acts Courtney Barnett and Camp Cope announced they would hold a bushfire fundraiser at the Corner Hotel in Richmond, Victoria.
That benefit sold out in around two hours, and another benefit will be held at the Corner Hotel on Monday.
Proceeds went to various charities, including the Bushfire Disaster Appeal, Rural Fire Service in NSW, WIRES Wildlife Rescue and others.

It comes after news that Sydney’s west could burn on Saturday as 46C temperatures bring bushfires into Australia’s biggest city.
The Rural Fire Service feared strong winds would spark new blazes in the Blue Mountains.
These bushfires could cross the Nepean River into greater Sydney and threaten Penrith if strong winds spread burning embers.

An alert was issued on Friday afternoon predicting the worst for Saturday afternoon as the Bureau of Meteorology forecast maximum 46C temperatures for Penrith and Richmond.
‘Severe to extreme fire danger is forecast for these areas tomorrow with temperatures in the 40s, very low humidity and strong winds,’ the RFS said.
More than 170,000 people living in Penrith and surrounding suburbs on the western edge of Sydney are potentially at risk.
