Jessica Mauboy chose a unique way to reveal Janaki Easwar’s song title on Monday’s episode of The Voice Australia.
Ahead of the 12-year-old taking to the stage during the knockout round, Jess, 32, presented Janaki with a bouquet of statement balloons with the song title in one.
After it was revealed Janaki would be performing Zayn Malik’s hit Dusk Till Dawn, some fans of the show said they were puzzled by the balloons in a series of tweets.

‘What is the purpose of this balloon popping game?’ one asked, as well as one who wrote, ‘Why are they hiding songs in balloons? She’s 12, not 3!’
‘Balloons are only good when it’s your birthday on Twitter,’ another posted, while one remarked, ‘Okay, Jess’ balloon fetish is not doing it for me.’
‘I’m very scared of that many balloons,’ one viewer added, as well as one who referenced the piano player who Jess asked to pop the balloons.

On Monday’s show, Jess told Janaki of the giant balloons in the room: ‘I’m guessing you’re wondering why there are balloons standing in the middle of the room.
‘I decided to do something a little fun because the song I’ve chosen for you is actually in one of those balloons. I’m a bit nervous because I don’t like balloons!’
