Jessica Mulroney steps out in New York ahead of Archie’s christening

Jessica Mulroney and husband Ben were out and about in New York City on Wednesday, just days before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are slated to christen their son Archie in a private ceremony.

The 39-year-old Canadian stylist, who is a fashion contributor at Good Morning America, was seen leaving the show’s studio with her 43-year-old husband in tow after introducing her latest bridal segment with anchor Robin Roberts.

Jessica looked chic in a hunter green dress with a subtle floral pattern, which she paired with nude patent leather peep-toe stilettos by Christian Louboutin.

Although it was well over 80-degrees in the Big Apple on Wednesday, she looked comfortable in her long-sleeve frock.

The mother-of-three wore her long brown hair half up and styled in loose waves for her appearance on the morning show.

When she stepped out of the studio, she had on dark sunglasses to shield her eyes, and she carried a tan leather satchel over her shoulder.

Jessica’s television host husband Ben followed close behind in a navy polo, light gray pants, and bright white sneakers.

As someone who is married to a stylist, he knows the importance of accessories, and he topped off his summer look with trendy shades and a watch with a yellow leather strap.

Earlier in the day, Jessica helped introduce her latest segment for GMA’s Summer of Love series after she ambushed bridal appointments at Kleinfeld’s to help a few women pick out their perfect gowns.

She was seen filming the segment in Chelsea last month, just a couple of weeks before it aired.

She previously told Harper’s Bazaar that the bulk of her styling stems from her wedding clients, and in the heartwarming clip she can be seen grabbing dresses for the women and putting veils on their head.

‘It was so much fun. I got to meet brides from across North America, all different shapes,’ she told Robin after the video aired.

‘They wanted all different kinds of dresses, and, you know, brides can sometimes be a little picky. Sometimes,’ she added. ‘For some reason, that day, each and every bride said yes and found their dream dress.’

While she was in New York City this week, Jessica styled three single women and helped them update their Bumble dating profiles in hopes of helping them find the loves of their lives.

Robin explained that the stylist will be back in the studio this week when the segment airs, and the fashion correspondent has already promoted it on Instagram.

‘Today I got work with three hard working, smart, amazing girls who are just looking for Mr Right,’ she captioned the short preview clip. ‘I shopped for them and we are updating their @bumble profile so they can attract a good guy.

‘We can all use a little boost from girlfriends. I will now be waiting to find their wedding gown in a couple years!’ she added. ‘Who else needs a little profile refresher? Check out the segment on Friday on @goodmorningamerica to see the incredible transformations.’

Jessica took to Instagram Stories after she returned to her hotel on Wednesday to say that she has the rest of the day to herself and wasn’t sure what she would do.

‘I have a full day to myself in New York today because I worked this morning,’ she explained. ‘So I think I may a.) sleep b.) go to the spa.

However, it remains unclear as to whether or not she will be heading across the pond for baby Archie’s private christening on Saturday.

There was fury when the Palace revealed the newest Royal would be having a private christening, following news the taxpayer unknowingly forked out £2.4 million ($3 million) for renovations to their new home Frogmore Cottage.

Now, Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, have sparked further outrage among royal fans after revealing they will not be making Archie’s godparents public following the ceremony at Windsor Castle on Saturday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex claim the godparents are not public figures or celebrities but private citizens, so they have the right to keep them anonymous.

But under Church of England rules, the details of all baptisms, including the baby’s godparents, are a matter of public record and can be accessed by anyone who is prepared to pay the required fee.

A royal announcement this afternoon confirmed the service will be presided over by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby.

They have chosen their wedding photographer Chris Allerton, who also took the first official photos of Archie when he was just two days old, to photograph the ceremony.

The couple said they ‘look forward to sharing some images taken on the day’ by their favorite photographer, but the ‘godparents, in keeping with their wishes, will remain private.’

There has been huge speculation over who Harry and Meghan have chosen to be their firstborn’s godparents, with their decision to keep them out of the public eye likely to disappoint thousands of their fans.

Harry’s former equerry Mark Dyer and Meghan’s best friends Jessica and Misha Nonoo are among the likely candidates.

Also thought to be in the running are Wimbledon champion Serena Williams, George and Amal Clooney, and Harry’s cousin Zara Tindall and her husband Mike.

Royal critics slammed the decision to keep the christening private, particularly in light of the row over the refurbishments at Frogmore.

Baby Archie’s arrival has struck a sharp contrast to that of his cousins’ Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Kate Middleton and Prince William posed for photographs with each of their newborns outside the famous Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital.

Their choice of godparents and christening guests were also public knowledge, with well-wishers pictured by the press on their way to the services.

But details of Meghan’s birthing plan, when she went into labor, and the location of the birth were kept a secret with the royal couple insisting they wanted to maintain a high level of privacy.

Sources have said Saturday’s service will be a ‘very small gathering’ of about 25 people.

It will be attended by Archie’s grandfather Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The Queen will miss her great-grandson’s baptism due to other commitments, reports the Sunday Times.

Harry and Meghan’s decision to exclude the press on the day could mean the non-royal guests remain a secret.

The statement issued by Buckingham Palace reads: ‘Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor will be christened in a small private ceremony by the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle on Saturday 6th July.

‘The Duke and Duchess of Sussex look forward to sharing some images taken on the day by photographer Chris Allerton.

‘The godparents, in keeping with their wishes, will remain private.’
