Jessica Simpson meets Princess Charlene of Monaco

Her ex hubby might have been dancing with the stars this week — but she was rubbing shoulders with royalty.

Jessica Simpson and her daughter Maxwell met Princess Charlene of Monaco at the Princess Grace Awards Gala on Tuesday night.

Her Serene Highness received a bouquet of flowers from the five-year-old, as well as a kiss on the cheek from her mother.

The 37-year-old singer looked fab in a black and white polka dot dress, which she matched with a pair of red heels.

Her little girl matched her mommy’s style in a pretty red dress, opting for silver shoes instead.

The princess meanwhile rocked a tight pair of leather trousers with a black and white strapless top , and a black blazer worn over her shoulders.

The awards, named after Charlene’s late mother-in-law Grace Kelly, recognize emerging talent in theater, dance, and film.

The Grace Kelly Foundation has awarded more than $8million in grants, scholarships and fellowships to date.

This year, Spongebob Squarepants creator Stephen Hillenburg endowed a new special scholarship this year for emerging talented artists working in animation.

Thus, also spotted on the red carpet was Spongebob himself, as was the voice behind him Tom Kenny.

Hillenburg was the recipient of a Princess Grace Award in 1991, and is the first honoree to grant the foundation such a scholarship.

Another award being handed out on the night was the Prince Rainier III Award — named for Grace’s late husband — recognizes renowned leaders in the arts who share the passion of the Princess in supporting emerging talent.

This year’s recipient was Titanic and Avatar director James Cameron.

‘He is one of Hollywood’s most iconic filmmakers and dedicated philanthropists,’ Charlene’s husband and Grace’s son, Prince Albert II of Monaco said when it was announced last month.

‘His revolutionary work has transformed the film industry, and at the same time he has helped explore the deepest parts of the oceans to help advance science and protect our most vital resources. There is no one more fitting to receive this accolade.’
