Jessie J has revealed she has suffered a devastating miscarriage after falling pregnant with her first child.

The singer, 33, took to Instagram on Wednesday evening to reveal she had been told she had tragically lost her unborn baby after going for her third scan on Tuesday, where doctors were unable to find a heartbeat.

Jessie told followers she had ‘decided to have a baby on my own’, after revealing in October she had split from her boyfriend of seven months Max Pham.

The grieving songstress said she was ‘still in shock’ but has decided to perform in Los Angeles later on Wednesday evening ‘because singing will help me’.

Alongside a photo of her holding a pregnancy test, Jessie wrote: ‘Yesterday morning I was laughing with a friend saying “seriously though how am I going to get through my gig in LA tomorrow night without telling the whole audience I am pregnant”.

‘By yesterday afternoon I was dreading the thought of getting through the gig without breaking down…

‘After going for my 3rd scan and being told there was no longer a heartbeat. This morning. I feel like I have no control of my emotions. I may regret posting this. I may not. I actually don’t know.’

Jessie went on to tell her legions of fans she wanted to ‘sing tonight’ – not to avoid grieving but because she will find comfort through music.

‘I know some people will be thinking she should just cancel it,’ she penned.

‘But in this moment I have clarity on one thing. I started singing when I was young for joy, to fill my soul and self love therapy, that hasn’t ever changed and I have to process this my way.

‘I want to be honest and true and not hide what I’m feeling. I deserve that. I want to be as myself as I can be in this moment. Not just for the audience but for myself and my little baby that did it’s best.

‘I know myself and I know I would talk about it on stage because that’s who I am. So instead of a tearful emotional speech trying to explain my energy. This feels safer.

‘I decided to have a baby on my own. Because it’s all I’ve ever wanted and life is short. To get pregnant was a miracle in itself and an experience I will never forget and I know I will have again.

‘Im still in shock, the sadness is overwhelming. But I know I am strong, and I know I will be ok.

‘I also know millions of women all over the world have felt this pain and way worse. I feel connected to those of you I know and those of you I don’t.

‘It’s the loneliest feeling in the world. So I will see you tonight LA.

‘I may crack less jokes but my heart will be in the room.’

Jessie’s heartbreak comes a month after she announced that she and her dancer boyfriend Max had separated.

The singer insisted ‘nothing dramatic’ happened between the pair as she spoke out during an Instagram.

In a heartfelt post, the Bang Bang hitmaker said dancer Max was an ‘amazing man’, adding they have ‘just been friends for a while’.

When asked what her relationship status was, Jessie explained: ‘Open, happy and loving myself.

‘Max and I have been just friends for a while now. Nothing dramatic happened. So please don’t over react.

‘He is an amazing man. We both have so much respect and love for each other. It just wasn’t right romantically. So we decided just friends it is.

‘The only reason I even talk about it is because it becomes weird and a little difficult when people live in your past.

‘I hate how much of a big deal other people can make your personal breakups.

‘We are both happy, living and loving our lives.’

Jessie started dating choreographer Max earlier this year, four months after her split from actor Channing Tatum.

The Price Tag hitmaker was first linked to Channing in October of 2018 when they were seen together in Seattle.

A month later, the Logan Lucky star was spotted at one of her concerts with his daughter Everly, whom he shares with his ex-wife Jenna Dewan, while the singer also caught up with a London performance of his Magic Mike Live show, which he wrote and helmed.

The couple reportedly separated in November 2019, only to reunite by January of the following year.

The relationship was short-lived, though, and they went their separate ways in April.

Channing, meanwhile, has recently been spotted out several times with Zoe Kravitz, though the two haven’t publicly confirmed a relationship.
