The USMNT recorded a commanding 6-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago to advance to the next round of the 2023 Gold Cup.
Jesus Ferrerira put his name in the USA’s history books as he not only became the first player to record hattricks in back-to-back games, but also tied Landon Donovan for the most hattricks in USMNT history with three.
‘The Pirate of the Carribean’ as commentator Stu Holden referred to Ferrerira as on air recorded all three of his goals in the first half of the game after getting off to a quick start.
His first goal came in the 14th minute after he received a pass just outside the six-yard box and quickly redirected it into the back of the net.
The second goal came after he got to a ball that was pinballing it’s way around the six-yard box and took a minor deflection off a defender before finding it’s way inside the net, while the third and final goal came from the penalty spot with only minutes to spare before the halftime whistle.

Cade Cowell scored the fourth goal in the game after dribbling past the keeper and defender
Cade Cowell netted the fourth goal of the contest after dribbling past both the keeper and the final defender on a breakaway early in the second half.
Gianluca Busio recorded the fifth goal of the contest just over 10 minutes later.
Substitute striker Brandon Vaquez scored the sixth and final goal of the one-sided affair after scoring in the 94th minute of stoppage time.
The blowout victory made it the second game in a row that the USA scored six goals after the recorded a 6-0 win over Saint Kitts & Nieves several days ago.
