Jets’ Haason Reddick hired ‘black-gloved men’ to intimidate business partner over $1.6m agreement, claims lawsuit

New York Jets holdout Haason Reddick allegedly stiffed a business partner out of $1.6million after hiring a group of ‘black-gloved men’ to intimidate him.

Reddick, who is yet to play or practice with the Jets since being traded by the Philadelphia Eagles in April amid a dispute over his contract, has been sued by Micah Khan of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, reports the New York Post.

The 30-year-old NFL linebacker ventured into the healthcare industry in 2018 when he purchased Haven Home Health Agency, only to leave his father Raymond Matthews, and Matthews’ ex-wife Tia Wright in charge of running the business as he concentrated on his football career.

However, by 2021 his health agency was ‘failing’ as Matthews and Wright had ‘no experience’ in the field, Khan’s lawsuit alleges.

Khan, who owns Kingdom Health Services, claims he was hired by Reddick to take over marketing and business development for Haven under the agreement that he would receive half of the proceeds if he managed to sell the company.

And that, his lawsuit alleges, was exactly what he did after transforming Haven into ‘a very successful company, with a fully trained staff and large revenue stream.’

Khan sold the company in April to MNH Pa. Home Care Acquisitions for $3.25m, meaning he was contractually entitled to around $1.6m.

Yet according to his lawsuit, when he asked for his share of the proceeds, the health-care investor was threatened by Matthews ‘purportedly at the behest of Mr. Reddick’.

‘Mr. Matthews brought over more than a dozen black-gloved men to a business meeting, claiming they were “Haason’s personal security,”‘ Khan said in court papers.

‘It was at this post-sale meeting that Mr. Matthews made it clear [they] intended to breach their payment obligations to Kingdom.’

DailyMail.com has reached out to Haven Home Health Agency and the New York Jets for comment. Reddick currently has no personal representation after being let go by Creative Artists Agency this week.

As well as his legal dispute, the former Eagles star’s NFL career is in limbo amid his standoff with the Jets.

Reddick was traded to New York this offseason with the belief that a contract extension would come with the move.

No such deal has been offered, and he has decided to stay home until he gets more money.

Doing so is reportedly costing him almost $800,000 for every game he misses, given he was meant to make $14.25million this season.

As noted by ESPN’s Adam Schefter last month, he’s already been fined more than $5million – penalties that are mandated by the league’s collective bargaining agreement.

Reddick’s camp has stood firm on his no-pay, no-play stance, but Jets owner Woody Johnson hopes a change in leadership after the firing of head coach Robert Saleh this week convinces him otherwise.

‘I hope that the young man can come to the team. We’d like to have Haason here,’ Johnson said.

‘We’d welcome him with open arms. I will extend that. And I haven’t talked to (interim head coach) Jeff (Ulbrich), but I think he would feel exactly the same way.’
