Jetstar flight from Bali to Brisbane chaos as half-naked tattooed man and his friends start fight

Three passengers – including one who checked-in half-naked – have been booted off a Jetstar flight from Bali after causing chaos within minutes of the plane taking off.

The two men and a woman were escorted off the plane by Australian Federal Police at Brisbane Airport after flight crew had to intervene when one of the men got into a fight with passengers behind him.

According to others on the plane, the heavily-tattooed man became violent with the couple 90 minutes after take-off before half a dozen others came to split it up and the pilot threatened to make an emergency landing if the disturbances continued. 

Passengers can be heard cheering in a video of the moment the trio were led off the plane by AFP officers, with one traveller shouting out: ‘Don’t come back either.’

The AFP police officers were waiting at the airport for the plane’s arrival and moved in to escort the three before any other passengers were allowed to leave.

‘The AFP responded to a request for assistance from an airline regarding disruptive passengers on board a flight arriving at Brisbane from Bali on Thursday 27 April,’ an AFP spokesperson told 7news.

‘The AFP boarded the aircraft and escorted one female and two male passengers from the plane prior to the rest of the passengers disembarking.

‘All three passengers were compliant with police directions to disembark.’

Although no charges were laid during or after the incident, Jetstar issued a statement confirming that they were investigating the incident on flight JQ058 between Denpasar and Brisbane.

The airline said that while the investigation continued, two male passengers were given temporarily bans from flying with them and Qantas. 

‘This type of violent and disruptive behaviour is completely unacceptable and will never be tolerated on our flights,’ it said.

‘We acknowledge this would have been a very distressing experience for other customers and are reaching out to those who were sitting nearby. This was also an extremely tough situation for our crew and we’re providing support to them.

‘The welfare of our passengers and crew is always our number one priority.’

The tattooed man had caused trouble earlier at Bali’s Denpasar International Airport after arriving for his flight wearing nothing but a tiny pair of green shorts.

After the altercation between him and the couple seated behind was split up by other passengers, the three disruptive tourists were sat in different seats where they remained quiet for the rest of the flight.
