Jewish deli Lewis’ goes up in flames in North Bondi – as cops make disturbing discovery

A kitchen fire has broken out at a popular Jewish deli in North Bondi that NSW police are treating as suspicious after detectives are seen removing a jerrycan from the scene. 

Emergency services were called to a building on Curlewis Street, North Bondi, following reports of a fire at Lewis’s Continental Deli after 4.00 am on Sunday morning.

Footage from the scene shows a plain clothed detectives wearing face masks removing a jerrycan from the deli that serve kosher dishes.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time or has any information

Police are due to hold a press conference on Sunday afternoon and appeal for information following a suspicious fire.

The fire comes several months after a fire broke out in the unit above the deli went up in flames after an e-bike’s battery spontaneously erupted into flames while four tennants were sleeping.
