‘We have prayed that, if it was God’s will, he would bless us with another baby,’ they wrote.

‘We are excited to announce that God has answered our prayers and we are expecting our rainbow baby due July 2022!’

The couple said they were ‘so thankful’ for a ‘healthy baby and pregnancy so far,’ adding that they’re ‘looking forward’ to finding out their third child’s gender soon.

Back in October, the pair – who tied the knot in 2014 – shared the sad news that they had lost their baby via a video posted to YouTube and Instagram – which showed the moment they first found out that they were expecting.

It also contained a clip of them excitedly telling their two sons that another baby was on the way and celebrating the exciting news with a pizza party. However, the couple’s happiness soon turned to heartbreak.

‘We recently found out that we were expecting our third baby. We were all thrilled!’ they wrote on their website at the time.

‘It was fun to see so much joy in the boys’ faces as we shared the news with them.

‘They were full of questions and so excited as we talked about the pregnancy and how they would get to be involved along the way and after baby was born. However, a few days later we started miscarrying.

‘Even though it was too early to tell the baby’s gender, we picked a name that we feel encompasses our baby’s significance and the life we will always remember: River Bliss Dillard.’

They explained that the name River symbolized ‘tranquility,’ adding, ‘Rivers are often a serene, beautiful escape in nature.’

‘We chose Bliss for a middle name because our baby is living in perfect bliss with the Lord and was such a gift that brought immense joy and happiness to us even though only with us here on earth for a short time,’ they continued.

After that, Jill explained on Instagram that they needed to take some time to ‘regroup’ as a family.

She said, ‘We’ve just been taking more family time, kind of regrouping and getting back into some normal rhythms.’

Jill is not the first member of the Duggar family to speak out publicly about miscarriage struggles; her sisters Jessa, Joy-Anna, and Jinger have all previously shared their own miscarriage experiences in the past.

Most recently, in February 2021, Jill’s younger sister Jessa, 28, revealed that she had quietly suffered a miscarriage in 2020, while announcing that she was expecting her fourth child with husband Ben Seewald, 26.
