But others may prefer to opt for another kind of assistant that can help them let their hair down.
Jim Beam’s new smart dispenser, named JIM, fits the bill – it will pour a shot for you when you ask for it.
The dispenser, priced at $35, is available for pre-order for shipping by December 15, in time for Christmas – though the Jim Beam website has listed the product as temporarily out of stock.

To have a drink poured by the dispenser, all a user needs to say is ‘Hey Jim, pour me a drink.’
Then, JIM begins to dispense a shot of bourbon, and responds: ‘Time to make history.’
While JIM can’t order you a cab or remind you of appointments like Amazon’s Alexa, it can respond humorously to some simple questions.
In a video demonstrating the dispenser, a man asks: ‘Hey Jim, what’s the best way to drink bourbon?’
JIM responds: ‘Any damn you please.’

And when asked what the weather is today, JIM responds: ‘I have no idea, but I do know that it’s the perfect weather to enjoy bourbon.
Purchasing JIM right now may prove to be a challenge – it’s currently out of stock and there’s a limit to one device per customer.
