Jimmy Barnes appeared to be in good spirits as he led arrivals at the 2024 APRA Music Awards following his recent open-heart surgery.

In December, the Scottish-born vocalist, 67, underwent the procedure after he was struck down by a life-threatening infection that attacked his heart.

On Wednesday, Jimmy looked fit as a fiddle as he walked the red carpet at the music awards night at the ICC in Sydney.

Dressed head-to-toe in black, the former Cold Chisel frontman looked every inch the rocker with a leather jacket, black jeans, shirt and black boots.

Jimmy was all smiles as he arrived to the awards night, which honours Aussie musicians who have achieved outstanding success in sales and performance.

He was joined by his wife Jane, who stunned in a dark red frock with white ruffled sleeves.

She completed her look with a pair of black sandals and wore large statement earrings.

Jimmy’s daughter Mahalia Barnes was also at the event, wearing a dark blue patterned gown and a black overcoat.

Mahalia, who is a singer in her own right, completed her look with large gold earrings.

Country music singer Troy Cassar-Daley also arrived in black pants, a matching coloured shirt and a leather jacket.

Meanwhile, former Wiggle Murray Cook swapped his red skivvie for a very different outfit.

The original red Wiggle, now replaced in the band by Simon Pryce and Caterina Mete, wore a polka dot shirt under a black jacket and pants.

The Cruel Sea frontman Tex Perkins also attended the star-studded event.

He looked sharp in a velvet tuxedo and white shirt unbuttoned at the neck to reveal a large silver chain.
