EXCLUSIVE
Rock legend Jimmy Barnes’ latest love child has scrubbed her association with a reformed bank robber turned TikTok star from her work history since her paternity was revealed.
Katy Lee Carroll was the managing director of Russell Manser’s victims advocacy business The Voice of a Survivor for almost four years before reinventing herself as a real estate agent.
Ms Carroll’s LinkedIn page had detailed her roles within the company until Christmas Day when Daily Mail Australia revealed she had worked for Manser.
Her time at The Voice of A Survivor has since been wiped from that online resume, which now starts in July this year when Ms Carroll began working in real estate on the NSW north coast.
Manser, who had a long history of drug abuse and spent 23 years in jail, was found dead in his waterfront Sydney apartment at King Street Wharf in March.
The cause of the 56-year-old’s death has not been made public but there were no suspicious circumstances.
The Voice of a Survivor has been under administration since July last year, after incurring debts including about $1million owed to the Australian Tax Office.
Manser had been repeatedly raped in juvenile detention and again in an adult prison as a teenager, then after his last release from jail dedicated himself to helping others.

He founded The Voice of a Survivor in 2017 to help victims of institutional child sex abuse get compensation and amassed 134,000 followers on TikTok where his posts included videos about life behind bars.
Barnes, who celebrated his 43rd wedding anniversary with wife Jane in May, revealed on Monday he was 37-year-old Ms Carroll’s biological father, making her his eighth child.
The Cold Chisel frontman has four children aged 35 to 42 with Jane, and is the father of 51-year-old Today Extra host David Campbell, who was born when Barnes was a teenager.
Eldest daughters Amanda Bennett and Megan Torzyn, who like Campbell are from Barnes’s hometown of Adelaide and now aged in their early 50s, met their father for the first time in 2010.
Ms Carroll was born in 1987, six years after Barnes married Jane and the same year he released his first number-one solo single, Too Much Ain’t Enough Love.
She was managing director of The Voice of a Survivor from May 2018 until January 2022, according to what was previously stated on her LinkedIn account.
In that position, Ms Carroll oversaw the day-to-day running of the business as well as helping support victims and working closely with NSW and Queensland prison departments.
Ms Carroll, who shut down her Instagram account this week, still refers to her experience at The Voice of a Survivor in a profile on her real estate company’s website.

‘As a dynamic real estate associate in Coffs Harbour, Katy brings a unique blend of compassion and dedication to every transaction,’ it states.
‘Katy has spent years helping others navigate through a range of different circumstances, developing a deep understanding of how to offer support, patience and clear communication skills that make her an ideal guide in the real estate world.
‘Her experience in advocacy has strengthened her ability to listen carefully, understand her clients’ needs, and provide thoughtful solutions.
‘Whether you’re buying your first home, selling a cherished property, or seeking an investment in this beautiful coastal community.’
When The Voice of a Survivor went into liquidation Manser blamed a spate of institutions seeking permanent stays in compensation cases where the alleged perpetrator had died.
‘The directors have decided to put it in voluntary liquidation because we’re not having the same volume of clients because of the response to these claims,’ Manser told Daily Mail Australia at the time.
‘It’s just not viable for us to continue on.’
Barnes released a statement on Instagram on Monday afternoon, just a few hours after Daily Mail Australia contacted his management about his secret offspring. Father and daughter are pictured

Manser, who owned the business with a a partner, had previously denied allegations his company pressured vulnerable survivors to launch compensation cases in return for kickbacks from law firms and it is not suggested otherwise.
‘We don’t have to do that,’ he told ABC’s Australian Story. ‘But, you know, not for one second would I say we haven’t made any mistakes.’
At the time of his death Manser owned a multimillion-dollar property portfolio, a Mercedes worth about $160,000 and a Jeep Cherokee valued at $80,000.
Ms Carroll was not a director of The Voice of a Survivor and it is not suggested she did anything which contributed to the company’s demise.
Daily Mail Australia contacted Ms Carroll on Monday after being told 68-year-old Barnes had privately acknowledged his paternity and welcomed her into his ever-expanding clan.
Ms Carroll asked for time to consider her position and directed inquiries to Barnes’s management before saying she had been ‘kind of waiting for this [call]’.
Barnes’s agent Rina Ferris did not return calls or texts but several hours later the rocker released a statement on Instagram revealing he was Ms Carroll’s father.
Ms Carroll, who has children of her own, simultaneously provided her own statement for a story published in news.com.au.
Barnes and his Today Extra host son Campbell were named as joint Fathers of the Year in August by advocacy organisation The Fathering Project
That story stated Barnes had made his paternity public after Ms Carroll was subjected to hundreds of phone calls from an anonymous person asking if he was her father.
Ferris told Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday she represented ‘the Barnes family, including Ms Carroll’ and none of them would be responding to any requests for comment.
‘The family are all now on their Christmas break and they/we will not be making any further comments, or responding to media requests,’ she said.
Barnes, who is in Thailand, said in his Instagram post that Ms Carroll had been in his life for the past five years.
‘Katy is a wonderful woman and since discovering that I was her biological father, our family and extended family have loved getting to know her,’ he wrote.
‘It’s been heartwarming to see good relationships growing with her sisters and brothers.
‘We have always respected her very strong desire to keep her family life private and will continue to support her.’
Ms Carroll said she had been embraced by the Barnes family and asked for privacy for herself and her children.

‘While the details of my relationship with Jimmy and the Barnes family are private, I feel compelled to share my gratitude for the love and care they have shown me,’ she said.
‘It has been an extraordinary gift to be welcomed into such a talented and kind family and I am thankful every day for their support.
‘This discovery, though exciting, has been approached with great thoughtfulness, not only for me, but also for my children and all of our extended families.
‘As we continue to nurture these relationships, I remain committed to protecting our privacy, allowing each of us to grow and heal in our own time.’
Ms Carroll has since shut down her Instagram account, which featured photographs of her with Barnes, his 65-year-old wife and other members of their family.
Barnes and Jane’s children are Mahalia, 42, Eliza-Jane, 40, Jackie, 38 and Elly-May, 35. Ms Carroll, Ms Bennett, Ms Torzyn and Campbell each have different mothers.
Having confirmed Ms Bennett and Ms Torzyn were his daughters through DNA testing, Barnes happily spoke about taking them into the fold.
‘My kids are all so great that when I found out there were a couple more I felt they would be good people and they’re lovely girls,’ he told New Idea in September 2010.
‘My only regret is not knowing them when they were younger but life is what it is all things happen for a reason.
‘At the time it was probably better for them that they didn’t know me because I was pretty wild.’
Jane, who was a 19-year-old university student when she met Barnes at a party in Canberra in 1979, told the same magazine it was ‘really lovely’ to discover her husband had two other daughters.
‘Jimmy is the love of my life and if he has children who are like him and like my children, for me that’s really lovely,’ she said.
All Barnes’s children with Jane have their own kids and he is a great-grandfather.
Mahalia, Eliza-Jane, Jackie and Elly-May formed the 1990s children’s pop group The Tin Lids, and are successful musicians who have shared a stage with their father.
Campbell, who is also a platinum-selling singer, was raised by his maternal grandmother Joan, believing her to be his mother.
He learnt Kim Campbell, the woman he thought was his older sister, was his real mother and that Barnes was his father when he was in primary school.
Barnes and Campbell were named as joint Fathers of the Year in August by advocacy organisation The Fathering Project.
