Jimmy Barnes trolls his wife Jane Mahoney for wearing ‘pyjamas’ to a wedding

They’re preparing to celebrate their 42nd wedding anniversary this year.

But on Tuesday, Jimmy Barnes trolled his long-time love Jane Mahoney for wearing ‘pyjamas’ to a wedding.

The Australian singer, 66, shared a photo of himself in a velvet suit sitting alongside his wife, who wore patterned silk pants and a matching top.

‘It’s pretty special to go to a wedding of young ones you’ve know since they were born,’ he captioned the image.

‘I feel overdressed here, Jane looks beautiful but I think she’s in her pyjamas,’ Jimmy joked.

Jimmy and Jane married in 1981 and share four children, son Jackie, and daughters Mahalia, Eliza-Jane and Elly-May.

In his memoir, Working Class Man, Jimmy revealed it was a case of love at first sight when he first met Thai-born Jane in 1979.

‘I’d met a lot of girls in my life, but no one had ever stopped me in my tracks like that girl did,’ he wrote.

‘She was way out of my class, but I loved her from the minute I saw her. Jane would change my life.’

At the time Jimmy, then aged 23, was dating his housemate Bernadette, and was also linked to a woman named Jan, whom he had been ‘seeing on and off for a long time’.

Despite this, Jane became the musician’s girlfriend shortly thereafter, and they ended up moving in together.

The family lived in France for much of the 1990s, before returning to Australia and taking up residence in the eastern suburbs of Sydney.
