Jimmy Fallon episode cancelled due to family matter

A taping of Jimmy Fallon’s late night talk show has been cancelled because of an issue in his family.

The show’s network, NBC, has said it axed a taping of Friday night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon because of ‘a private Fallon family matter’, according to Page Six.

A source told the website Fallon, 43, and his family will be with his mother Gloria, who is reportedly ill and has been hospitalized.

‘Together with the rest of his loved ones they are by her side right now,’ a source told People of the matter, describing his family as ‘very close knit.’

Instead of the new episode, a previous episode from September which featured Madonna will air in it’s place, according to Deadline.

As of now, no production changes have been planned for tapings next week.

An accomplished comedian, Fallon became the host of The Tonight Show in 2014, succeeding Jay Leno to become the star of the iconic late night program.

Together they have daughters Winnie Rose Fallon, four, and Frances Cole Fallon, two.
