Jock Zonfrillo’s widow shares heartwarming moment with their son as she keeps his memory alive

Jock Zonfrillo’s heartbroken widow Lauren Fried is doing her best to keep the celebrity chef’s memory alive for the sake of their children.

The MasterChef Australia judge was found dead in his hotel room in Melbourne on April 30, and was laid to rest at an intimate funeral in Sydney in May.

On Monday, Lauren took their young son Alife, six, to the barber to get a haircut followed by a gelato, a routine Jock usually shared with his young son.

Lauren, who shares little Alife and Isla, two, with Jock, said their son requested a day out to do ‘papa activities’.

Underneath a collage of pictures shared on Jock’s Instagram account, Lauren wrote: ‘Alfie has asked me to do some of his Papa activities with him – making crepes and doing hours of Lego were in his requests.’

‘This week seven years ago, up in the Scottish Highlands, Jock asked me to marry him,’ she wrote at the time.

‘He took me on a 4WD adventure from Loch Lomond, up some hectic winding roads, to the top of a windy mountain.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal that when the police entered the hotel room to conduct a welfare check, officers believed that Jock had died of natural causes and didn’t find anything that suggested otherwise.

There was also no drug paraphernalia found in the hotel room, sources said.

A heartbroken Lauren said at his funeral: ‘We were two halves that found each other in the exact right moment in life when we were ready.’

‘We were ready for that big love, to live a life of adventure, to become parents together, to imagine things and to actually make them happen.’
