Jodie Comer cradles a baby while filming tense scenes for dystopian thriller The End We Start From

Jodie Comer looked dishevelled as she cradled a baby precariously close to the edge of the roof of London’s Hard Rock Cafe in Piccadilly while filming new dystopian thriller The End We Start From on Sunday.

The actress, 29, who plays a new mother caught up in the midst of devastating floods that swallow up the city of London, was spotted cradling a baby to her chest while looking over the barrier.

She wrapped up in a dirty blue coat and rolled-up navy jeans, which she teamed up with light brown leather boots while wearing her blonde tresses in a messy ponytail.

Jodie, who sported a full face of ground-in dirty make-up, shot a distressed expression as she stood near the edge of a balcony with the baby in tense scenes.

It comes after cast and crew were left concerned after they learned someone on set had tested positive for Covid-19.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Everything had been going well and they were setting up for the second scene, but then we suddenly saw Jodie being driven off in a car.

‘The director gathered all the crew and told them someone on the cast or crew had tested positive for Covid and that filming would have to stop.

‘Everyone is obviously worried about the baby who was on set.’

Speaking of her new role, Jodie said: ‘My character is ordinary and extraordinary, both her very personal life and the world around her have been turned upside down and she is dealing with the unknown at every turn.

‘Her story is about the quiet heroics of determination, devotion, bravery and love.’

Director Mahalia Belo added: ‘The End We Start From is a unique and original take on a survival film. One that feels in tune with the climate crisis we are experiencing now.
