Joe Biden has responded to a mocking tweet by President Donald Trump with one of his own.

‘I see that you are on the job and presidential, as always,’ Biden wrote on Thursday as he retweeted one of Trump’s earlier tweets.

Trump had trolled the former Vice President earlier in the day when he tweeted a parody video making fun of Biden as he pledged to alter behavior that made some women uncomfortable.

Biden’s pledge took place in a video in which he said he understood that his touchy-affectionate behavior upset some women and promised to change his ways.

He seemed to be seeking to ease some people’s discomfort, which has raised questions about whether he could wage an effective presidential campaign.

Trump responded by posting a doctored version of the video in which a fake image of Biden creeps up behind the actual Biden and puts his hands on his shoulders and nuzzles him.

‘WELCOME BACK JOE!’ Trump wrote above the video.

Seven women have come forward in recent days to complain about Biden making them uncomfortable.

None of the women who have come forward have accused Biden of sexual harassment. Rather, they’ve described behavior that made them feel uncomfortable because it invaded their personal space, regardless of his intentions.

In response, Biden released the two-minute video addressing the claims of inappropriate touching years ago.

He defended himself over instances where he kissed women on the head or put hands on them, suggesting he was merely affectionate and that politics is about ‘making connections’.

In the video, Biden said he would be ‘more mindful about respecting personal space in the future.’

While he has not declared officially, polls show the former Vice President under Barack Obama and longtime senator would be a formidable challenger to Trump.

Trump faces a litany of far more serious allegations about his behavior around women, including multiple affairs, and claims of rape, groping and harassment that he has dismissed.

Just before the 2016 election a decade-old recording was released in which Trump could be heard boasting about ‘grabbing’ women’s genitals.

Trump said that he was ‘not proud’ of his words but that they were just ‘locker room talk.’
