Former Vice President Joe Biden’s niece, Caroline, was back in Manhattan Criminal Court on Monday to have her felony conviction thrown out stemming from a $100,000 credit card scam.
A year ago, Ms Biden took a plea deal admitting to using a borrowed credit card to make purchases totaling more than $110,000 at the high-end Bigelow Pharmacy in Greenwich Village.
Had the case gone to trial, Caroline could have faced up to a year in jail, if convicted.

Instead, she was offered two years of probation and ordered to pay restitution for the unauthorized purchases.
On Monday, Caroline, 31, was allowed to change her plea to a lesser charge of petit larceny, reported the New York Post.
The case was supposed to come to a conclusion today, but because of an unspecified problem with the paperwork, Biden will have to return to court on July 26 to be formally sentenced to probation.
Ms Biden, who resides in California and is the daughter of Joe Biden’s financier brother, James Biden Sr, had already paid full restitution of $110,810.04 and completed 10 days of community service.
The willowy blonde heiress appeared sullen when she was photographed outside the courtroom Monday.
She showed up for the hearing wearing a baggy monochrome ensemble, which she livened up with a pair of funky floral Givenchy booties with silver buckles, which cost $1,450.

Prosecutors previously said Caroline asked to borrow a credit card from a victim, who was not identified in court documents, to buy an item for $672.
But instead Biden opened an account at Bigelow Pharmacy and spent more than $110,000 between April 2015 and June 24, 2016, buying the store’s lavish products.
On May 5, 2017, police arrested her and initially charged her with grand and petit larceny.
This was not her first run-in with the law: in 2013, Caroline was arrested for harassment, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice after she got into a fight with a roommate over rent.
She also told to police while she was being arrested: ‘I shouldn’t be handcuffed! You don’t know who you’re doing this to!’
Biden, who has been reportedly in and out of rehab for anger management and a drug addiction, also managed to escape jail at the time when the court ordered for her charges to be dropped if she behaved for six months.
