The Cincinnati Bengals were able to pick up a win in a defensive battle against the Los Angeles Rams as quarterback Joe Burrow was able to play through the pain of a lingering calf injury.

Cincinnati was able to pick up a 19-16 win on a night that also saw franchise legends Boomer Esiason and Chad Johnson inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor.

The 26-year-old year old Burrow had picked up the calf injury early in training camp before tweaking the injury again last week against the Baltimore Ravens. He did not practice during the week and his status was in limbo until only hours before the contest.

Despite being less than 100% Burrow completed 26-49 passes for 259 yards and an interception.

Majority of Burrow’s production came when through to superstar wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase who was able to rebound from two sub-par performances in the Bengals last two games.

Chase finished the game with 12 catches for 141 yards. Running back Joe Mixon was responsible for securing Cincinnati’s only touchdown of the night while also picking up 19 yards on 65 carries.

Despite having a quarterback who was fully healthy things on the offensive side of the ball were much tougher for the Rams.

Rams QB Matthew Stafford threw for two interceptions while completing 18-33 passes for 269 yards and a touchdown.

WR Tutu Atwell hauled in the Rams only touchdown pass of the evening. He also caught four passes for 50 yards.

Cincinnati was able to pick up their first victory of the young season in the win and secured a 1-2 record.

After coming into Monday’s contest 1-1 the loss also gave the Rams a 1-2 record through the season’s first three games.
