Joe Burrow used some inspiration from the past on Sunday as he prepared to take on the Texans.

The Bengals quarterback arrived at Paycor Stadium wearing his dad’s Montreal Alouettes jersey, as he paid homage to his father’s time with the CFL franchise.

Jim Burrow played for the Alouettes from 1977-80 and starred for the team as a defensive back.

And Joe was seen walking in his dad’s blue, red and white jersey as he donned his fathers’ No. 16 uniform.

Jim won the Grey Cup – the CFL’s equivalent to the Super Bowl – in 1977.

He later went on to college coaching roles with Washington State, Iowa State and Ohio, where he was defensive coordinator from 2005-18.

The younger Burrow has struggled this season with a calf injury but has rounded into form over the last four games, totaling 10 passing touchdowns against just two interceptions.

He has 1,861 passing yards through eight games this season.
