Joe Montana ‘wrestles his grandchild away from an alleged kidnapper’

NFL legend Joe Montana saves his nine-month-old grandchild from 39-year-old female ‘kidnapper who sneaked into his California home and attempted to walk out with baby’

NFL legend Joe Montana and his wife were forced to wrestle one of their grandchildren away from an intruder who crept inside their California home, report said.

TMZ Sports reports that the frightening incident took place around 5pm on Saturday at a Malibu residence where the couple was staying.  

Authorities told the publication that Sodsai Dalzell, 39, crept into the home through an unlocked door.

Authorities said Dalzell happened across the sleeping nine-month-old baby, removed them from a playpen and held them in her arms.  

TMZ Sports reports that the intruder was soon confronted by Joe and Jennifer Montana.

The couple asked Dalzell to give back the child, but eventually a physical  tussle ensued and Jennifer was able to safely pry the child away.

Deputies with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department were in the area for an unrelated matter, but someone inside the home notified them of the incident.

The intruder fled the home, but was detained a few blocks away by authorities. She was charged with kidnapping and burglary.  Authorities said no one was injured during the incident.

Montana, 64, was first drafted to the San Francisco 49ers in 1979 and would later win four Super Bowl championships from 1981 to 1989. 

He played a total of 16 seasons, during which he won the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000.
