The Anglo-American pair went into the match having not dropped a set and beat defending champions Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah in the quarter-finals.
There was so little to choose between the pairs throughout the match that the final points tally read 154 each but Mektic and Pavic were superb under pressure, saving 10 of the 11 break points they faced.

Salisbury will team up with Harriet Dart once more in the quarter-finals of the mixed doubles
Having played an excellent third-set tie-break to give themselves a chance, Ram and Salisbury finally broke serve in the third game of the fourth set only for Mektic and Pavic to hit straight back.
Nevertheless, Salisbury will team up with Harriet Dart once more in the quarter-finals of the mixed doubles later on Thursday.
The pair are set to face Britain’s Naomi Broady & Jeremy Chardy from France.
