Joe Swash finally touches down in the UK after his flight was cancelled

Joe Swash has finally returned to the UK after wife Stacey Solomon revealed his flight home was cancelled.

The presenter had reportedly jetted to South Africa to record an All Stars version of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! where he will appear alongside other jungle favourites such as Helen Flanagan and Gillian McKeith.

Despite his travel turmoil, Joe was in good spirits as he touched down at Heathrow Airport on Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday the alleged full lineup for this year’s I’m A Celebrity All Stars special was revealed, and former series champion Joe was among those who have travelled to South Africa for filming.

However, once production had wrapped, Stacey revealed Joe was left stranded abroad after his flight home was cancelled.

Stacey took to Instagram on Monday night to reveal she’s shaved her legs especially for his return home after he’s been away for weeks.

However, she later told how she was ‘fuming’ that his flight was cancelled and that her grooming efforts had gone to waste

She also revealed that he was on likely to return home on Wednesday, indicating that he was on a separate, later flight to hosts Ant and Dec.

The ex EastEnders actor won the ITV series in 2008 and later presented the spin-off show for ten years, and Stacey recently teased that he was filming for a new project.

The star, who recently married X Factor singer and former 2010 Queen on the jungle Stacey, is hoping to be the first double winner by taking part in the All Stars show.

A source told The Sun: ‘Joe was always on the producers’ hit list as he was such an iconic winner. But they had to iron out the timings and came to a conclusion that worked.

‘He has flown out there and can’t wait to give a good account of himself for a second time on the show.’

Stacey, who Joe shares two children with son Rex, three, and baby daughter Rose, revealed he had gone away on a work trip in one of her regular Instagram updates. 

The Loose Women panellist shared a snap to her Instagram last week writing: ‘Since Joe’s been away the last couple of weeks these two have got so close to each other and every morning they get into bed with me.’

Helen Flanagan, Georgia Toffolo, and Myleene Klass are tipped to lead the famous faces that have signed up for the upcoming I’m A Celebrity All Stars series. 

They will reportedly be joined by Joe Swash, Carol Vorderman, Gillian McKeith, Phil Tufnell, Amir Khan, Paul Burrell, Jordan Banjo, Andrew Whyment, Dean Gaffney and Shaun Ryder with Janice Dickinson and Fatima Whitbread completing the line-up. 

The new spin-off series is set to hit TV screens in 2023 and will see fan favourites battle it out in the jungle once more, with presenters Ant and Dec having confirmed that they are currently filming in South Africa. 

According to The Sun, viewers will see a group of 15 soap stars, reality TV personalities and sporting icons enter the camp. 

A source said to the publication: ‘It’s a different format to Australia, who knows when and where celebrities will enter camp, literally anything could happen.

‘It’s not clear how many will start in camp or how many will be there by the end when one is crowned King or Queen of the jungle, possibly for a second time.

‘It’s the best of I’m A Celebrity, quite literally, but there’s some twists and surprises along the way for viewers and campers so it’s not going to be as straightforward as they might think.’

Made In Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo was crowned Queen of the Jungle in 2017 and has allegedly flown to South Africa to begin filming. 

The reality TV star was famed for striking up a firm friendship with former Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s dad, Stanley during her stint Down Under. 

Toff did coyly confess she had a soft spot for older politicians, saying: ‘I have always said I do have a thing for older politicians before I came in here… and can confirm that is still standing!’

‘It’s going to be your favourite celebrities from the last 20 years who are going back in to do it one more time.’
