Touching on how they are growing up with famous parents, the Dancing On Ice star said: ‘To them we are just mum and dad. When me and Stacey aren’t working and we’re just at home we are just a normal family.

‘The kids know we’re famous because we’ll be in the street when people ask for photographs, they notice that. Apart from that we keep our lives quite low key.

‘When we’re not working on TV, we try and stay away from it all as much as possible. We have a very close knit family, we keep ourselves to ourselves, they’ve had a real upbringing. They take no notice about people coming up to us.

‘We chose to do this job as our careers, our kids haven’t so when we’re not working we do and keep things as normal as possible. We want our kids to grow up nice and balanced human beings. We try and keep things as low-key and down to earth as possible. We don’t try and spoil them or anything like that.’

During the chat Joe also spoke about how Stacey was finding her pregnancy and their anticipation for expecting their first girl.

The couple shared the happy news they were having a girl with her fans in a sweet gender reveal last month.

Joe said: ‘Stacey’s doing amazing she’s doing really really good. We’re really excited, it’s strange because I’ve never had a little girl before, so it’s a different sort of excited.

‘Stacey is getting the nursery all ready and she’s like ‘Oh my God we’re having a girl’. It sort of hasn’t really sunk in yet properly yet but we can’t wait to meet her and see what she looks like.

‘I’ve never had to look after a little girl before so I’ve obviously had boys and been wrestling and boisterous so I will have to adapt it slightly and play it by ear and I’m sure I’ll be fine.’

On how the boys are feeling about having another sibling he added: ‘They’re so excited, the older boys are excited but little Rex cuddling and kissing mum’s belly and saying ‘aww baby’.

‘I’m really excited to see how Rex is going to be around her. I can only imagine he’d be so cute.’

Joe went on to explain that he hopes the other children won’t feel jealous when their newest arrival is born: ‘You never know with kids. I’ll do make best to make sure he doesn’t feel left out or anything like that. I’m sure he’ll be fine. It’s definitely  something we will keep our eye on.’

The I’m A Celeb star also discussed what the family plan on naming their little one: ‘We let the boys decide what we were going to call Rex. They decided to call him Rex from Toy Story and we thought ‘yep we quite like Rex’.

‘But with the little girl I’m going to let Stacey take the lead on that one. I really like boys names like Billy and Ricky. We haven’t decided what we’re going to call her yet, we’ll wait till she’s born and see what suits her best.’

Joe also discussed Stacey’s pregnancy and how she has been ‘calm’ whilst expecting, as he lifted the lid on her bizarre pregnancy cravings.

He said: ‘She’s not been a bad pregnant person. She quite calm and doesn’t loose her temper.

‘She has these cravings where she has raw cauliflower with mango mango chutney, mayonnaise and curry powder and mixes it up and I just think that is the weirdest and worst combination ever.’

The couple have had a busy year moving into their new home Pickle Cottage after having to postpone their wedding due to the pandemic.

Joe proposed over Christmas and they had begun to plan their family nuptials when the second lockdown came in.

Joe explained: ‘Because we postponed it a year we sort of had most of it planned anyway, we just pushed it back a year. So we are just going to get the house done, get the baby here and once the baby is here we can concentrate on it again.’

He added excitably: ‘All the kids are going to be able to be there!’

During the interview Joe also hinted that he would love to go back to presenting I’m A Celebrity.

He won the show in 2008 during the 8th series and went on to present the show’s spin-off programme, Extra Camp for the next ten years.

He said: ‘I’m always available for I’m a Celebrity things. It was a massive part of me. I’ve done 11/12 years of it so yeah it was a huge part of my life.

‘I would definitely think about going back if they asked me. It’s in Wales, Australia is just a little bit to far maybe, I would be so far away from everybody. If they ever needed me then they can just pick up the phone!’

On the show being moved to be filmed in Wales due to the pandemic he said: ‘I’ve always loved I’m A Celebrity but it is slightly different with the change of location.

‘I do miss that sort of case of people at home in November watching it and them being in the sun in Australia, the rules are different, the creepy crawlies are different. I prefer it in Australia but I’d rather watch it in Wales than not watch it at all. It’s one of the best shows on TV.’

On the kids watching it after he appeared on the show with Stacey he said: ‘The kids love it they definitely watch it, they love the trials, it’s a shame they weren’t old enough when me and Stacey did it. They’ve never seen clips but it’s always there if they want to see it I have the DVDs.’
