Jon Gosselin says he hasn’t spoken to his twin daughters Cara and Mady, 22, for almost 10 years

Jon Gosselin has revealed the extent of his fractured relationship with his eldest daughters in a new interview.

The former reality TV star — who is known for appearing on the show Jon & Kate Plus 8 with former wife Kate Gosselin and their eight children  — shared that he hasn’t spoken to his twins Mady and Cara, 22, in nearly a decade.

‘The last time I spoke to Mady and Cara was 2014,’ Gosselin, 46, told The U.S. Sun on Thursday.

‘I periodically text Mady and Cara to see if I get a response and at this point, I’ve never heard from them, ‘ the father — who claimed his ex stole $100K from two of their kids’ bank accounts last year — added.

He went on to say that he will not be attending either of the girls’ college graduations this year, as he wasn’t invited, saying, ‘Sadly, I am not attending.’

Jon and Kate, 48, were wed in 1999 and welcomed Mady and Cara the following year.

Kate then gave birth to sextuplets Alexis, Collin, Joel, Hannah, Leah and Aaden, who are now 19.

The duo starred on Discovery Health specials before they got their very own show in 2007.

After Jon’s alleged infidelity in 2009 Kate filed for divorce.

She was granted full legal custody of the kids in the divorce, however Hannah and Collin later moved in with Jon in 2018.

In May, Hannah told ET: ‘I’ve always been closer with my dad and we’ve always had a strong good relationship.’

‘It’s a lot, growing up in a very busy household with lots of kids. And there’s not really a one-on-one relationship, for attention, that you have with your parent. I felt like my dad gave me that attention and a feeling like I had a good solid relationship with a parent.’

The former child star added: ‘It was a difficult decision leaving my siblings I did not want to be separated from them or even, like, live in a different household than them. But I just feel like there was unfair treatment in my mom’s house and I just wanted to live with my dad.’

Last year he claimed that Kate was partly responsible for the divide between him and the other kids. 

‘[Communicating with] the children that live with Kate is very difficult, because I don’t have an open relationship with them,’ he told ET.

‘I feel it’s a really poor decision on Kate’s part, because she alienated me from those kids.’

‘I think it was a poor parenting decision. It would’ve been much better if she would have been more open with them and explained things better.’

He went on to say: ‘It’s horrible. Of course, I miss them. That’s why I post things on my Instagram, like, throwbacks, TBTs. It’s bittersweet, but [Hannah] and Collin live with me, so I kind of just focus on them.’

He added: ‘Maybe they will realize what the truth is and what has transpired as maturity steps in. Maybe they’ll go discover the truth or they’ll ask Hannah or ask Collin.’ 

Jon has also previously talked about becoming estranged from some of his children.

‘[The twins] stopped coming [at 12 or 13]. I was just like, “Hey, do what you want, be with your friends” and then it just became, “They’re not coming [over].” Then I had six [kids],’ he explained to Entertainment Tonight in 2016.

‘I was just focusing on the ones that did come [to my place].’ 

The former couple reportedly only communicate through their attorneys following the end of their acrimonious decade-long marriage in 2009.

Jon & Kate Plus 8 aired for five seasons on TLC spanning 2007-2010, once amassing 9.8M viewers with the fifth season premiere.
