‘There are two ways to take it – as a kid at 15 I’d have been delighted to make a final,’ Peacock said. ‘That race was ridiculously fast.
‘Watching it back, I hate myself – I felt it in my chest, started leaning backwards and everyone came through.
‘Watching back I know I could have won that and I should have won that. I’m happy – I had a hamstring injury in May that put me out and I’m glad I turned it around.
‘I want to say thanks to everyone involved – my girlfriend putting up with me, I am happy with her so I feel like I’ve won at life.’
Streng won gold in a time of 10.76 while runner-up Guity Guity took silver in a 10.78 personal best.
