‘Some players care more than others’: Jose Mourinho hits out at faltering Manchester United stars over their attitude ahead of Valencia clash
Jose Mourinho has hit out at his Manchester United players and questioned their motivation to help turn things around, insisting ‘some care more than others’.
There is a lack of harmony between Mourinho and some members of his squad at present following a disastrous start to the season with their relationship at an all-time low.
Defeat at West Ham on Saturday ensured their worst start to the season for 29 years and, ahead of their Champions League clash against Valencia on Tuesday, Mourinho has now questioned his players’ effort.

‘I think that some care more than others,’ – Mourinho said.
‘It’s the responsibility of everybody. The performance is the consequence of many factors.
‘Luke Shaw said the players have to give more, and I like that perspective but I don’t agree totally. Everybody in the club – the kit man, the nutritionist – has a role to play.’
