Jose Mourinho has taken to social media to assure fans that his health is not a serious concern.
Fans had expressed their concern for Mourinho following a worrying health update.
It was reported that the Fenerbahce boss needed to undergo surgery abroad due to a health problem.
However, Mournho has insisted there is nothing for his followers to worry about.
Taking to Instagram with a video message, he said: ‘wishing everyone a happy holiday season. May this time be full of love and happiness for you and your families.
‘For those of you who have shown concern, I can confirm reports of my surgery have been greatly exaggerated, it’s just a quick and minor procedure.
‘I will resume training on the first day back from the holidays, as always. I’ve never missed a session in 25 years, and I don’t intend to start now.
Mourinho was in the dugout as Fenerbahce drew 1-1 with Eyupspor in the league on Friday, and in fact gave a damning assessment of his side’s performance and the quality of the match.
Fenerbahce are not set to return to action until January 5, when they will host Hatayspor.
Turkish sports journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu wrote on X this past week: ‘Jose Mourinho will leave Istanbul today (December 21) to undergo surgery abroad due to a health problem he is experiencing.’
Naturally, with Mourinho being one of the biggest names in the sport, there was an outpouring of support for the former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss online.
