- Josh Giddey was booed by Houston Rockets fans
- Giddey, 21, is being investigated over a serious allegation
- He scored eight points as the Thunder lost to the Rockets
Josh Giddey was public enemy No 1 in Houston as the Australian NBA star returned to the court with Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday.
Giddey is being investigated by Newport Beach Police Department and the NBA over allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a minor after photos and videos appeared on social media.
The 21-year-old Giddey has kept playing in the NBA while the allegations, which first surfaced last month, are investigated.
And he hit the court in Texas for the Thunder’s clash with the Rockets, but was greeted by a chorus of negativity throughout the contest.
He was booed during the player introductions, which continued during the opening quarter.

Giddey was also greeted by jeers whenever he touched the ball.
But the Melbournian responded to the hostile reception with a quick start to the game, scoring six points along with two assists and a rebound in the first eight minutes of action.
He went on to finish the game with eight points, four rebounds and six assists as the Thunder lost 110-101.
The Giddey saga took a major twist last week when it was revealed that Gloria Allred, the famed attorney who has taken on a string of high-profile cases involving women’s rights, is representing the girl at the centre of the investigation.
Allred was quoted by TMZ Sports as saying: ‘We represent the family and have no comment.’
Allred has previously represented women who accused Bill Cosby of sexual misconduct and women who accused the former U.S. congressman Anthony Weiner of sending sexually explicit photos.
It comes after Code Sports, in Giddey’s native Australia, said the Thunder guard believed the teen was 19 when they met at a nightclub in 2021. And after discovering she was in fact under 18 the next day, Giddey is said to have broken off the relationship.

The New York Post claim to have identified the Oklahoma City nightclub where Giddey was filmed with the teen, stating that the establishment has an over-18 policy.
Giddey and his representatives have declined to comment as the NBA continues to investigate the situation.
When a reporter asked Giddey about the allegations during a media scrum, Giddey said he understood why the question was raised and said nothing else.
‘Yeah, I mean I understand the question obviously,’ Giddey told the reporter. ‘But there’s no further comment right now.’
