Joy Behar has never been one to mince words on The View.
So it’s no surprise that she’s every bit as outspoken in her personal life – including when it comes to having houseguests.
During an episode of the Behind The Table podcast, the 81-year-old recalled her early pre-fame days when she’d have friends and guests come and stay at her home.
‘I used to have a 24-hour rule that I’d tell people,’ she said.
‘Before I could even afford a housekeeper, but I had this little house somewhere, I’d say bring your own sheets and towels and bring them home with you because I’m not doing your laundry.’

She also stressed the importance of knowing when your guests are arriving – and leaving.
‘I’m strict about it and I don’t have any problem saying, “So you’re coming Friday and leaving Sunday, right?”‘ the talk show host said.
‘Also I don’t really feel like cooking for a bunch of people. I’m not running an Airbnb, okay?’
It’s unclear if Behar still goes by these same rules, or if she’s loosened up since amassing a huge fortune from her work on The View.
According to OK magazine, the comedian rakes in ‘around $7million a year’ for her role on the hit daytime show.
Behar previously told Entertainment Tonight that the only thing keeping her on The View after all these years was ‘money’.
She purchased a two-bedroom, three-bathroom Upper West Side residence located near the ABC studios in 2017 for $2.4 million.

However, her main residence when she isn’t working is a stunning four-bedroom property in Sag Harbour worth over $7million.
She owns a second Hamptons home, but records show that she transferred it to her daughter Eve in 2021.
While Behar certainly boasts an enviable net worth, it’s nothing compared to that of her co-host Whoopi Goldberg.
The Sister Act star’s net worth is estimated to be around $60million, with a large chunk coming from her $8million salary on The View.
She’s also just one of only 19 entertainers to win the coveted EGOT – an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.
