Borussia Dortmund have hit starlet Jude Bellingham with a hefty £101million price tag as they look to fend off interest from Liverpool, according to reports.

Bellingham has quickly cemented his spot as one of the world’s most exciting talents during his time in Germany, and is coveted by a number of elite clubs.

Among them are believed to be the Anfield outfit, but their hopes of landing the 18-year-old have been rocked by his exorbitant fee, Bild have claimed.

So far this season, Bellingham has started each of Dortmund’s fixtures in both the Bundesliga and Champions League, and continues to catch the eye.

It has been previously reported by a number of publications that Jurgen Klopp was keen on luring him to Merseyside, but he would have to break his transfer record.

Bellingham moved to Dortmund from his boyhood club, Birmingham, for £25m in 2020, but his valuation has now sensationally quadrupled because of his displays.

There appears to be little hope of his current club backing down, either, with Bild going on to add that they will not let him leave for anything under the £101m fee.

As it stands, Bellingham is committed to Dortmund until 2025 – and, provided a club doesn’t splash out over the £100m milestone, he looks set to stay until then.

In the wake of several eye-catching performances this term, it is likely Bellingham will be happy to stay put. He has made over 60 appearances for Dortmund so far.

Having settled quickly into an elite level, Bellingham was also rewarded with eight caps for his country, and will be an integral player under boss Gareth Southgate.

At the weekend, Bellingham netted a jaw-dropping solo goal against Arminia Bielefeld, taking his tally for the league campaign to two, with two assists, too.

Showcasing his quick feet and trickery, the midfielder weaved his way beyond a handful of defenders to break into the box, and then chipped over the goalkeeper.

Meanwhile, Dortmund are reportedly lining up a move for Bellingham’s younger brother, Jude, from Birmingham – with the 16-year-old a long-term target.

The Sun have reported that interest is growing at the Westfalenstadion to reunite the two siblings, and Jobe has been making a name for himself in the Midlands.

Jobe almost broke his brother’s record of becoming the club’s youngest ever player earlier this season, but was twice an unused substitute in EFL Cup fixtures.

He is yet to make his first appearance for Lee Bowyer’s side, but Dortmund are believed to have held an interest in him since he was aged just 14.

Both brothers are represented by their father, Mark, and the report goes on to say that the family are keen for Jobe to stay in Birmingham for the time being.
