Judge serves eviction notice on pregnant mom’s unborn baby

An eager Utah mom in her final days of pregnancy gave her baby an eviction notice and made it official with a judge’s signature. Incredibly, the baby obeyed.

Kaylee Bays, 33, was expecting her third child, a girl.

Last week she thought she was going into labor, but it stopped.

The judicial assistant at the Fourth District Court in Provo jokingly asked Judge Lynn Davis to serve her baby with an eviction notice.

Kaylee Bays, a judicial assistant in Provo, Utah, was nearing the end of her pregnancy and jokingly said she wanted to issue her unborn baby girl an eviction notice. A judge signed it and miraculously baby Gretsel was born 12 hours later

The order says: ‘Mommy is uncomfortable and running out of room for you! Too much heartburn and rib kicking, and I’m sick of waddling!!!’

Addressed to Gretsel at Mommy Belly Lane, in Womb, Utah, the notice gave the baby three days to ‘vacate the premises’.

Less than 12 hours after Davis signed the notice, baby Gretsel was born. Bays was 12 days shy of her due date.

‘So far, she’s a good listener,’ she joked. ‘She didn’t want to be in contempt of court.’

Davis told Bays it was his first baby eviction notice in his 31 years as a judge.

‘If it really works, I want it framed,’ Davis said to Bays.

‘It did, and I’m going to frame it for him,’ Bays said.

‘I just think it’s great that there are judges who have a great sense of humor, and we all get along wonderfully down here,’ Bays said. ‘It’s great that we have support and that kind of joking relationship within the courthouse.’
