JuJu Smith-Schuster ignites Twitter feud after Valentine’s Day themed James Bradberry joke

JuJu Smith-Schuster ignites Twitter feud with a BRUTAL Valentine’s Day joke mocking James Bradberry for ‘holding you when it matters most’… after his foul in the Super Bowl handed Chiefs victory over Eagles

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster posted a tweet that became the focus of NFL twitter and ignited a war of words between several members of the Chiefs and Eagles only days after the Super Bowl.

In a tweet that he captioned ‘Happy Valentine’s Day, everybody’ Smith-Schuster posted an image of Eagles cornerback James Bradberry against a Valentines Day themed background with the words ‘I’ll hold you when it matters most.’

Late in the fourth quarter during Super Bowl crunch time when it did indeed ‘matter most,’ Bradberry was whistled for a holding penalty after he could be seen just grabbing the back of Smith-Schuster’s jersey. The penalty set the Chiefs up to run the rest of the clock out before kicking a game wining field goal for glory.

While the tweet generated thousands of views, likes, and retweets Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown was not amused by Smith-Schuster’s petty joke.

Brown was the first member of the Eagles to respond to Smith-Schuster’s post when he tweeted out his response by saying. ‘First off congratulations. Y’all deserve it .This is lame. You was on the way out the league before mahomes resurrected your career on your 1 year deal Tik-Tok boy  He admitted that he grabbed you but don’t act like your like that or ever was. But congratulations again!’

The ‘TikTok boy’ comment appeared to take the tweet into a whole new realm in terms of going viral as not only did it see more activity than Smith-Schuster’s original tweet.

Smith-Schuster has come under fire in the past for doing TikTok dances on the logo of opposing teams and drawing the ire of their defenses who have used his dances as motivation

Brown was not the only Eagles player to respond negatively to Smith-Schuster’s post.

Cornerback Darius Slay joined in when he quoted Smith-Schuster’s tweet saying ‘Come on naw bra… doin to much!!’

Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson also chimed in by sending out multiple tweets criticizing Smith-Schuster.

‘JuJu ran from me when I check him in game then 10 got his smoke,’ said Gardner-Johnson before sending out another tweet saying. ‘I got more INT’s then bra had TD’s….. maybe I need to change to WR.’

It should be noted that Gardner-Johnson finished the season tied for the NFL lead with six interceptions, while Smith-Schuster

Bradberry who admitted to committing a penalty after the game simply tweeted out ‘ALL_PRO #APJB’ in reference to being named to the NFL’s all-pro team.

Later on Smith-Schuster chimed back by quoting Brown’s response and saying ‘Glad you were finally able to get all that off your chest after all these years. Good game bro.’

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes finally joined in the fun to come to the defense of his receiver when he tweeted ‘That man must just be bored.’

On Sunday after the Super Bowl, Bradberry fronted up and admitted it was the correct decision for him to be penalized.

‘It was a holding. I tugged his jersey,’ Bradberry said. ‘I was hoping they would let it slide.’

Referee Carl Cheffers said it was a ‘clear case of a jersey grab.’

‘The receiver went to the inside and he was attempting to release to the outside,’ Cheffers told a pool reporter. ‘The defender grabbed the jersey with his right hand and restricted him from releasing to the outside. So, therefore, we called defensive holding.’
