Julian Assange’s Twitter vanishes on Christmas Day

  • It is understood the @JulianAssange account was deleted at midnight last night
  • It remains unclear whether the social media site decided to delete the account

Julian Assange, the founder of the transparency organisation Wikileaks, has mysteriously deleted his Twitter account.

It is understood the @JulianAssange account was deleted between midnight and 1am GMT.  

The only message which can be glimpsed on Assange’s official Twitter page on Monday is ‘Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!’. 

It remains unclear whether the social media site decided to delete the account or the 46-year-old himself made the decision to deactivate it.
