A woman hasn’t been seen in four days after she vanished while bushwalking in a national park following a psychedelic festival in Far North Queensland.

Juliana Jaramillo Castrillon, 36, was last seen on a hike from Cedar Bay to Home Rule, near Rossville, north of Cairns, on Saturday morning.

Ms Castrillon, who was born in Colombia but now lives in Byron Bay, had been at the Orin Aya festival, a four-day music, arts and culture event described as a ‘psychedelic global gathering’ which finished on September 5.

Her best friend Alejandra Correa said she was supposed to return to Byron Bay on the weekend but never showed up.

‘I know festivals people take drugs but she’s not that kind of person, she’s into spirituality and meditation,’ Ms Correa told the Cairns Post.

An aerial search of the area was carried out on Monday and Tuesday but was called off due to the dense terrain making it difficult to see.

Police and SES volunteers will launch a ground search and rescue on Wednesday morning.
