Julie Bishop has revealed how she supported Pip Edwards after she found herself at the centre of a wild argument between her ex Michael Clarke and his new girlfriend Jade Yarbrough in Noosa.
The former foreign minister, 67, told this week’s Stellar magazine, she immediately texted Pip after she made headlines last year when Yarbrough accused Clarke of sleeping with her.
‘I think I was overseas and I sent a text saying “I’m here for you, babe”. But I knew she was fine. I knew she was going to be strong and able to deal,’ Bishop said.
‘But the level of public scrutiny, I mean, the biggest story in Australia? Please…’
‘Honestly, just put it in context, people. That people’s personal, private lives can make the front page and even end up on the news. After 25 years in the public eye as a politician and beyond, I’m still astounded by what is deemed news.’

Bishop looked incredibly chic in a yellow suit as she posed alongside the P.E Nation designer on the front cover of the magazine.
The politician flaunted her slim figure in the designer ensemble and a white shirt as she embraced her friend.
Meanwhile, Edwards showed off her pins in a tiny yellow skirt, matching blazer and a black crop top.
The pair changed into new ensembles as they leant on a wall for another photo and looked into the camera.

Edwards was dragged into a stoush in December 2022 between her ex Clarke, his girlfriend Yarbrough, as well as Karl Stefanovic and his wife Jasmine.
Extraordinary footage emerged of a heated exchange between the couple while they were on holiday in Noosa, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
In the video, which was filmed by an onlooker on January 10 and sold to The Daily Telegraph for a reported $10,000, Yarbrough accused the former Test captain of cheating on her with his former flame Edwards on December 17.
Others in the group, including Stefanovic, his wife Jasmine – Yarbrough’s older sister – and celebrity accountant Anthony Bell, tried to defuse the fracas.
