Julien Macdonald opts for a laid back look in a pair of slippers as he grabs a coffee on solo stroll

He is one of Britain’s most well known fashion designers.

And Julien Macdonald cut a more casual figure on Wednesday as he stepped out in a pair of slippers while in Notting Hill on Wednesday.

The Britain’s Next Top Model judge, 50, opted for a laid back look as he grabbed a coffee while taking his dog for a walk.

The designer wrapped up in a black padded coat while he also sported a dark top and a pair of shorts.

Julien put safety first with a black face mask as he went for a stroll through the trendy neighbourhood.

Julian began his fashion career after graduating with an MA from the Royal College of Art.

He was spotted by Karl Lagerfeld and appointed Chanel’s head knitwear designer in 1996.

Julien then launched his own label two years later and was made creative director of Givenchy in 2001 and was also named as British Fashion Designer of the Year.  

He previously received criticism for using fur in some of his early collections.

Reflecting on changes he has made to his clothing, he told Reuters: ‘As a young designer I did use a lot of fur and do you know what, I think you should perhaps try not to.

‘You know what? It was my mistake. I was young. I am sorry. I apologise.’

He later added: ‘You do not need to kill animals to wear nice clothes.’
