Junior Eurovision: Isabella Clarke places third

She was dubbed as 2017’s answer to Kylie Minogue before representing Australia at the Junior Eurovision event in Georgia.

And pint-sized pop star Isabella Clarke lived up to her hype after finishing third at the competition on Sunday night.

The 13-year-old wowed crowds with an uplifting performance of her own teenage anthem Speak Up at the Tbilisi Sports Palace.

The Victorian youngster put on an energetic display as she confidently belted out the song in a backless silver jumpsuit.

Isabella looked every bit the seasoned professional, expertly singing while executing a choreographed dance routine with backing vocalists Mia Papzis, Tiana Carbone and Jessie Eilers.

And if there were any nerves on stage – they certainly didn’t show – as the teenager played up to the cameras, as well as the audience in front of her.

Her top-three finish was Australia’s highest-ever place in the junior leg of the competition.

Before the event, Isabella revealed how she ‘absolutely loves’ her song Speak Up while talking to TV Tonight.

‘To me it’s about being able to speak your mind and not be afraid. It’s about kids having the confidence to talk about the things happening in their lives,’ she said.
