Jurassic Park filming location in Hawaiishuts down before Hurricane Lane hits

Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard have all roamed this land with mighty dinosaurs.

But now Oahu, Hawaii is facing a much more dangerous threat from Mother Nature.

Hurricane Lane is barreling towards the island forcing everyone who hasn’t left to batten down the hatches and stay inside.

Bigger threat: Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard fought off dinosaurs in 2015’s Jurassic World but they would have trouble weathering Hurricane Lane, which is closing in on Oahu 

Jurassic Valley inside The Kualoa Ranch – a famous filming location known for Jurassic Park and Jurassic World – has canceled all of its tours and closed its facilities as the island prepares to take a possible direct hit from the hurricane.

It’s threatening to become the first hurricane to make landfall on the state since 1992 when Hurricane Iniki struck and interrupted filming of the first Jurassic Park.

Even if Hurricane Lane doesn’t make landfall, residents are still being warned of life-threatening conditions.

These include damaging high winds with gusts reaching speeds of 120mph, flash floods and possible mudslides.

TV shows Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum P.I. that film on the island have also shut down production for safety purposes. 

Along with being well-known for the Jurassic movies, Kualoa has also hosted films including Godzilla, 50 First Dates, You, Me And Dupree, Mighty Joe Young and some of Elvis Presley’s 1960s classics.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump declared a state of emergency in Hawaii on Wednesday with the worst conditions expected to continue into Saturday, according to Accuweather.
