A delighted Jurgen Klopp celebrated Liverpool’s crucial Premier League victory against Luton by fist-pumping in front of all four stands at Anfield.

The Reds moved four points clear at the top of the table after fighting back from behind, the visitors having led at half-time through Chiedozie Ogbene’s header.

Despite them missing several golden chances, Klopp’s side eventually found their goalscoring groove with Virgil van Dijk nodding home the equaliser on 56 minutes.

Cody Gakpo then completed the turnaround two minutes later before Luis Diaz and Harvey Elliott made sure of the result, sending the stadium into raptures.

After the final whistle, Klopp looked to further ramp up the atmosphere with his trademark celebration. On this occasion, though, he moved to every corner.

He began with the Kop before gesturing to the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand, delivering three pumps in their direction and slapping his hand on the club badge.

Klopp then moved across the width of the pitch to the Main Stand and rounded off his brief tour in front of the Anfield Road End after a brief hug with Van Dijk.

The jubilant boss touched the crest on his coat one final time and headed inside.

In recent weeks, Klopp has begun to branch out with his iconic celebration. After the 3-1 victory against Burnley, he fist-pumped in front of three different stands.

Typically, Klopp’s ritual is reserved only for the Kop, Anfield’s most storied section.

Speaking post-match, Klopp said: ‘Exceptional game. I liked lots of the first half, but I saw that the boys and the crowd didn’t like it as much.

‘We started OK and you have to get used to an opponent. Then they scored their goal but everything was good until the final third, and then we were in a rush.

‘I told the boys it was a top game. We have to be calmer in decisive moments, then there were fireworks and wonderful goals. Fantastic night. It is just really good.’

The clock is rapidly ticking down on Klopp’s tenure, with the 56-year-old having announced his shock decision to step down from his post at the end of the season.

Xabi Alonso, now the head coach at Bayer Leverkusen, is a favourite to succeed him.
